Wonderful Faith Formation Products (Plus a Giveaway!)

by Angie on April 27, 2011

I was recently received a wonderful variety of products from Monica from Arma Dei to review for Catholic Mothers Online.  Arma Dei offers Catholic teaching tools and gifts to celebrate the Sacraments, Seasons, and Feast Days.

Included in the package I received was:

I really loved the great variety of products from Arma Dei.  The would make really amazing tools to help with faith formation for all children — whether they attend homeschool, Catholic school, private school, or public school.  In fact, there are even lots of things that can be done with children that are not school aged.

I think that my favorite item in the collection that I received was the A Treasure Chest of Traditions for Catholic Families book.  When I shared this book with my homeschooling group (I actually already had a copy of it!), people went crazy for it!  I loaned it out to several different people, and some other people went ahead and ordered their own copies.

From the Equipping Catholic Families blog about the Treasure Chest book:

A Treasure Chest of Traditions for Catholic Families is a 304 page book offering ideas for activities, crafts and recipes to help families celebrate the various Seasons and Feast Days of the year.
With fun-filled activities, we can build our own family traditions while passing on the richness of our Catholic Faith.  Guided by the Liturgical Calendar, the book journeys through the Seasons of Advent, Christmas, Lent, Easter and the 2 spans of Ordinary Time.  The months of the secular calendar are woven in, providing the context for Feasts and monthly Devotions.  Saints are introduced as their Feast Days occur, offering details and legends about their lives and providing suggestions for family activities surrounding them.
Another product that I especially had my eye on was the Hand in Hand with Jesus journal/book.  From the Equipping Catholic Families blog:

This hardcover, concealed coil book is packed with prompting reflections and questions, tracing the child’s Catholic journey of Faith: the celebration of the Sacraments, the growing knowledge of the Catholic Faith through Catechism and Tradition and the child’s deepening personal relationship with Jesus.

I think this would be a really wonderful gift for a child for First Communion (although it might be nice to receive it prior to First Communion and First Reconciliation).

Now, let me share something extra exciting!  I am going to give this entire collection of goodies to one lucky reader!

From now through Monday, May 2, 2011 at 11:59 pm EST, you can enter the giveaway by simply leaving a comment on this post. Easy peasy!

You can receive an additional entry in each of the following ways:

1. Go to the Arma Dei website and then come back here and leave a comment with what item you would buy if you could buy anything.

2. Subscribe to Catholic Mothers Online blog. (If you already subscribe, just leave a comment that you already subscribe.)

This means that, in total, if you do all of the items, you can post up to three separate comments as entries into this giveaway.

Good luck, and thanks to Arma Dei for the chance to review these products!

I received all of the products to review at no cost to myself.  (The products that I reviewed are the ones in this giveaway.)  All of the opinions are my own.

Of all the items offered on the site, I think I would choose A Treasure Chest of Traditions for Catholic Families. Traditions is a topic I want to include in our studies next year. I think I’ll pick this book up even if I don’t win. Thanks for the opportunity.

I love ALL the products there–especially the books and the key cards. I subscribed to your blog, as well as follow you on Twitter and FB. I love this site, too! I feel so blessed because I am in an area where it is hard to find traditional Catholics and large families, and harder yet to find home schooling Catholics–so the online blogs and sites give me the inspiration I need! Thanks! :)

Monica has so many wonderful products at Arma Dei; I would be thrilled to receive any of them. In fact, I’ve been eyeing the Treasure Chest book for some time, and have asked for it as a gift (but unfortunately, my husband hasn’t come through yet!) I would love to use the “Reverence and Awe” cards with the kids in my Catechesis of the Good Shepherd atrium; someday they need a bit of reminding about proper reverence. And the “Hand in Hand with Jesus” journal sounds perfect for my daughter who just made her First Communion. The day is still special in her heart and I think she would enjoy “journeying with Jesus” now. Anyway, thank you for all the great things you share on your blog!

Blessings,
Cheryl Basile
